The capital city of Andhra Pradesh that is Hyderabad exists
as one of the chief learning centres in southern India. Professional and
academic institutes are plenty here. The city developed as a major learning
centre and much of the earlier credits goes to the Qutb Shahi rulers. During
their rule Urdu and Persian developed to its full. Some of these rulers were
great patrons of arts and literature. The scene is a bit different for twenty
first century. There has been an almost vertical growth in the number of medical
and technical institutes in the city.
There are unlimited academic options available in the city. Talking about the
same the city features two central universities, two deemed universities and six
state universities. Osmania University established here is one of the oldest in
India.
Amongst the technical institutes Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and
International Institute of Information Technology. Indian School of Business
likewise is a very popular institute providing post graduate courses in programs
in management. The institute was established by state agencies and private
entrepreneurs and bears collaboration with London Business School.
Some highly acknowledged research institutes of the nation are also rooted here.
These include Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, National Institute of
Nutrition and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology. Colleges and schools are
present in almost all the townships and localities. Many of the institutes
mentioned and more are concentrated in the eastern regions of Hyderabad like
Ambarpet, Tarnaka and Jamia Osmania.
Hyderabad is an important seat of learning in
southern India. It has eight universities and professional colleges. The famous
Osmania University, the University of Hyderabad (also called Hyderabad Central
University), as well as the Central Institute of English & Foreign Languages (CIEFL)
are just a few academic institutions that give Hyderabad a prominent place in
education and technology.
In addition, research centres such as the Indian Institute of Chemical
Technology, International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Hyderabad),
the Indian School of Business (ISB), National Academy of Legal Studies and
Research (NALSAR), the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) Engineering
Staff College of India (ESCI), Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB)
and the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) are also housed here. Jami'ah
Nizamiyyah, the largest Islamic University in Southern India is also located
here. Hyderabad also has many schools including Sujatha High School, Rosary
Convent High School and Kenedy Vidya Bhavan School.
